Louis Vuitton Opens Pop-Up Restaurant, Pierre Sang at Louis Vuitton on May 4th


Louis Vuitton opens Pierre Sang at Louis Vuitton, the brand’s first pop-up restaurant in Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul, on May 4th.

Upon entrance of pop-up restaurant, visitors are welcomed by the natural sunlight passing through glass panels characteristic of Frank Gehry’s architecture, in harmony with 13,899 monogram flower decorations filling up the entire ceiling. The multi-colored flowers are inspired by the ‘Origami Flowers’ designed for Louis Vuitton’s Objet Nomades Collection by the design studio, Atelier Oï.

The large sculpture of Louis Vuitton’s mascot, Vivienne stands near the entrance to add vivacity to the space and napkin holders created in the image of Vivienne from leather left over after production, as part of campaign for sustainability. Inside the restaurant, two Ecritures by the master of Korean contemporary art, Park Seo-Bo, are displayed and brings insight into the House’s worldview, continuously supporting various culture and art activities.

For the collaboration with Louis Vuitton, Korean-French Pierre Sang Boyer, who is the head chef for this pop-up restaurant developed original menus using regional ingredients of the season and adding Korean color to its dishes. For the entrée (served both in lunch and dinner courses), sous-vide salmon confit, citron caviar, and radish carpaccio will be served. The main course can be chosen between Korean beaf rib-eye accompanied with mushroom pie and Siberian onion and PS bibimbap, beautifully decorated with edible flowers. Wine pairing from a selection is possible by request.

Pierre Sang at Louis Vuitton is open from May 4th to June 10th, at 4th floor of Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul located at Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu. Pre-booking is required.
